Cartoon  One  is  a  Production  and  Distribution  company  for  kids animation series based in Rome.

May 2006-January 2008

I joined the starting-up CartoonOne as compositor in a rush and in an outstanding deadline during one week of backbreaking overtimes..that was the welcome.

During my period here I worked very hard, “growing” in a magic atmosphere as working with friends/collegues is.

I joined different productions and co-productions for Ferrero Spa, Felix The Cat Creations, RAI Fiction, Hahn  Film-Germany, Epidem ZOT-Finland.

I started working as Senior Modeller and later as Modelling Supervisor, giving to CartoonOne my contribution to win the Pulcinella Award (international animation award) as “Studio of The Year 2008″ at the Cartoons on The Bay, Salerno, Italy.

My Role: Senior Modeller (May 2008 – June 2009, Glasgow-Scotland)

I had been employed here as Senior Modeller and I worked at different stages of the production.
I worked mostly as characters modeller and I modeled a great deal of blendshapes for expressions as well as phonemas and corrective blendshapes however I also modeled props and enviroments.

I did also a lot of textures in Photoshop doing also UV’s Layouts, improving these for shading and texturing as required for an highest detail.

As Senior Modeler I modeled a lot of stuff from the 007’s Aston Martin, DB5 to the blendshapes for all the main characters inside the movie (Admiral(Sean C.),Vicky(the duck above),beavers and rabbits and all the other human) checking and fixing also the previous charaters modeled before my arrived.

I was honoured to work for Sean Connery whom I consider one of the most awesome actor in the world.

|Magic Crystal Teaser

This is a very nice feature film.

I already worked on the teaser a couple of years ago in CartoonOne-Rome.

Below the shot in which I worked on.

For this shot I was in charge to do the Lighting, Shading, Texturing as well as the compositing in Shake.

Now I’m working as freelance for Studio SUMATRA (Viareggio-Italy) and I’m following the modelling stage as HighPolyAssetSupervisor.

Basically I’m doing a modelling check with continuous retakes to keep a good polygons density in the geometry, and preparing each object with the best unfolded UV as well as the best UV’s cuts.

I’m doing a meticoulos check in the geometry seeking out triangles, N-Gones and all that the guys have forgotten as well as give them tips as “problem solving”..
